TROOPSTORM

Roadmap

Where the game is going

What is live, what is being built and what comes after. No dates: it is one small studio, and the game comes first.

Live

Version 2.30.0

Out now, on PC

  • The Online world: an account, a base on the server, every paid battle checked by replaying it.
  • The war map with other commanders' bases, stars and dollars to win; revenge attacks.
  • The siege without end, with records; the base's own defense; the Dominion's surprise attacks.
  • Live defense when your base is attacked, with the general attack, and duels between friends.
  • Eleven troops trained in one barracks, with levels to 15 and a stance for each troop; ten commander cards; artillery in three modes, the flak gun.
  • The tech tree at the headquarters: fifteen technologies in Economy, Army and Defense.
  • Dollars, Intel and gold: the research center's Intel every hour, gold for looks and Intel.
  • The commander's road to level 50, eleven ranks and the captain's promotions to Veteran; missions, medals, leagues and seasons.
  • Day and night by the real clock, the sun moving with it, storms with real thunder, and four kinds of weather that change a battle's numbers.
  • Looks: four seasons for the base and the Ghost Legion, worn from the wardrobe.
  • The name Troopstorm, its icon and its opening.
  • Deleting the account from Settings → Account, and the licenses of everything the game uses.
  • Troop voices and callouts; English and Romanian.
Now

Showing the game

  • This site, a short video and screenshots.
  • A Discord server for feedback, bugs and testers, and the first posts on Reddit and itch.io.
  • The first wave of players: friends first, then whoever wants to try it.
Now

Running well everywhere

  • The three quality levels tuned with the figures from players' machines (the F8 panel in the game).
  • Fewer draw calls and less memory on low, so old laptops hold a steady frame rate.
  • Freezes caught as they happen, with what caused them, so they can be found and fixed.
Next

Oil and tanks

  • Oil, a fourth resource, from an oil rig; Drilling in the tech tree prepares it.
  • A tank factory, tanks and armored cars.
Next

The doctrines

  • At headquarters 25, at the end of each branch of the tech tree: Logistics (a heavy convoy, reserves), Assault (quicker respawns, the truck's guard, smoke, the captain's reach) and Fortification (one more bunker, artillery more often).
Next

Android, as a closed test

  • The same game in an app: the same account, the same bases, the same battles against PC players.
  • Menus made for a finger, a graphics level for phones, and a performance budget on a mid-range phone.
  • A closed test on Google Play, then the store.
Later

The story

  • The story of Varkan, the Free Legion and the Iron Dominion, told in the game.
Later

iOS

  • TestFlight with a public link, then the App Store.
Later

The alarm on your phone

  • A push notification when your base is attacked, and the live defense joined straight from it.
Later

Steam

  • A store page with a wishlist and a Playtest, if the game finds its players.
Ideas

Being weighed

  • The medic's healing gun, and defense medals in the Online world.
  • The Crows: mercenaries without a flag, for special events.
  • Support tickets answered from inside the game.
